Well the second day of the Manitoba Harm Reduction Conference was another wonderful day of learning. A real highlight was Margaret Ormand of Sunshine House fame, talking about the Solvent Users Recreation Project, in her presentation ‘How Recreation Becomes Prevention! Harm Reduction in Action!’ This totally neat program is just one of the many amazing things the folks over at Sunshine House do. Please check out their programs page to learn more about one of my favorite Winnipeg addresses.

I also had the chance to wander over to the Youth Leadership Training that was happening during the conference, facilitated by Aboriginal Youth Opportunities
and the Native Youth Sexual Health Network. It was so great to be able to see this gathering in action, and I left feeling totally excited about tomorrow (and today’s!) leadership.

I am preparing for the Remote Control gathering happening this week in Winnipeg. Folks from all over will be coming together to share expertise and capacities in HIV-related CBR, with a focus on the unique needs and concerns of creating and implementing such research in rural and remote communities. While I was preparing, I was having a hard time finding a link to this great resource put out by the fine folks at theAtlantic Interdisciplinary Research Network, the Pacific AIDS Network, and the Ontario HIV Treatment Network I thought I would go ahead and link it here, in case any of you readers are looking for an excellent guide to the Common CV process required to apply for CIHR funding.
